October just going
It seems I just don't have a lot to say right now...
This photo was actually taken in September. Leaves are turning color and falling here now, but Raven was looking deliciously spooky in this photo.
There was a killing frost a few nights ago. But earlier in the month I made pesto from the last of the basil.
And met a new friend...
I did a lot of dyeing early in the month. Still need to pull my notes together and take photos of my results.
I hope all is well in your little corner of the world.

finally a little color
In the What if Diaries we've been focusing on color for a little over a month. But aside from doing a lot of dyeing, nothing was coming together for me or making much sense cloth-wise. But then I over-dyed some of my bright pieces in indigo, by holding on to a little pinch of cloth and dipping. Suddenly a relationship between these bits was formed and they were much more pleasing to me with the brightness knocked back a bit. It is still a spectrum of sorts, but now related to each other. I placed them on another over-dyed cloth. I like this... I started thinking of this as Memory of Summer Fading. The fading blossom look of it. Playing with the words. Memory is fading. Yes. Summer is fading. And this is good stitching for the melancholy of fall.
